Smith upbeat despite Rhinos' loss
Leon Pryce of Bradford is wrapped up the Leeds defence
Leeds coach Tony Smith put on a positive front after his side were beaten 15-6 by Bradford in the Grand Final at Old Trafford.

"It is disappointing because we have experienced the other side of it," he said. "We know how good it is and what Bradford are experiencing.

"But I have heard coaches say that nobody has died. I never really quite understood that before but I do now.

"We will go into our pre-season and fight to get our title back next year."

Smith, who led the Rhinos to victory in 2004, insisted his team will be stronger next year despite a number of players leaving the club.

"We will fight harder and come back more determined," said the Australian.

"Those that are leaving have had some good times at Leeds Rhinos and it is disappointing not to be sending them off on high notes.

"Bradford have turned in a big effort to turn their season around and you can't give them enough credit."
