Grand Final player ratings | | Who hit the heights at Old Trafford as Bradford regained the Super League crown with a 15-6 win over Leeds. BRADFORD BULLS Michael Withers: His tackle on Chev Walker denied Leeds a certain try. Another good stop on Mark Calderwood later in the second half. Leon Pryce: Scored Bradford's second try. An elusive runner and very solid in defence. Bradford's top performer. Ben Harris: Penalised for trying to separate Richie Mathers' head from his neck early on. Otherwise a workmanlike display. Shontayne Hape: Given little room in the first half by the Leeds defence. Had a try ruled out early in the second half but became a major thorn in Leeds' side. Lesley Vainikolo: Carried the ball out of defence more often than he liked. Scored on 52 minutes and gave Leeds plenty of problems from then on. Iestyn Harris: Injured an ankle at the end of the first half but recovered well. Got more and more involved as the game went on. Late drop goal sealed win. Paul Deacon: One towering kick on 51 minutes gave Marcus Bai a few anxious moments. Started to dictate in the second half. Stuart Fielden: Sent Andrew Dunemann crashing to earth with one vicious shoulder charge. Kept clear of any confrontation with his old rival Barrie McDermott. Ian Henderson: His passing was pretty accurate all game. Lucky to escape punishment for a high tackle on Matt Diskin, though. Jamie Peacock: Hampered by a knee to his groin in the first few minutes. Came off for a rest midway through the first half. Outshone by others. Paul Johnson: Knocked out trying to tackle Richie Mathers after just four minutes. Back in the fray after a rest on the sidelines and showed no ill-effects. Brad Meyers: Held up over the Leeds tryline early on. A willing worker whether carrying the ball on making tackles. Decent effort. Lee Radford: A careless offload gave Leeds some good ball in the Bradford half. Not a bad performance on his final appearance for the Bulls. Robbie Paul: His jinks and twirls gave Leeds some cause for concern. Poor pass at the start of the second half ended a promising Bradford attack. Adrian Morley: Needed a bit of TLC from the Bradford physio after Barrie McDermott's high tackle. Took a lot of battering but stayed firm. Joe Vagana: His bulldozing runs forced Leeds to gang up in order to bring him down. Did his job when coming off the bench. Jamie Langley: Robust and effective when trying to gain yards against a tough Leeds defence. His charge led directly to Lesley Vainikolo's try. LEEDS RHINOS Richie Mathers: Some powerful running out of defence. One great run early in the second half put Bradford on the back foot. His side's best player. Mark Calderwood: Little opportunity to make his mark in attack, though he threw the ball away near the Bradford tryline on the hour mark. Chev Walker: Blew a chance to put Leeds ahead when he dropped the ball inches from the line. It proved to be the turning point. Chris McKenna: Hard-working on his last Leeds performance but failed to make the kind of impact that Keith Senior is known for. Marcus Bai: Good bursts out of defence. Not easy to bring down. But that was about the limit of his involvement. Danny McGuire: Great chase to tackle Michael Withers in his own goal area. Scored the first try of the game, pouncing on Andrew Dunemann's grubber. Rob Burrow: A livewire from the start. Did his fair share of work in defence, too. Good support play but, unfortunately for Leeds, little came of it. Ryan Bailey: Solid enough but injury hampered his effectiveness. Yet another Leeds player to under-perform on the big day. Andrew Dunemann: His kick led to Danny McGuire's try. One of his side's better players. Hammered by Stuart Fielden at the start of the second half. Danny Ward: Dependable but failed to make too many inroads into the Bradford defence. Needed to be more effective. Gareth Ellis: Exploited gaps in the Bradford defence after the break but his team-mates failed to capitalise. Not a bad showing. Willie Poching: Blotted his copybook by dropping the ball from the kick-off, but Bradford did not take full advantage. Bounced back well. Kevin Sinfield: A below-par display. Kicking gave Bradford problems early on, but could not hold onto Leon Pryce when the Bradford man stormed through. Ali Lauitiiti: His error led to Bradford's second try. Also caught Adrian Morley with a high tackle. A poor game from the big man. Matt Diskin: His excellent run and offload put Chev Walker through only for his team-mate to spill the ball as he went to touch down. Read the game well. Jamie Jones-Buchanan: Did what was expected of him. Solid and dependable without producing anything eye-catching. Barrie McDermott: Soon in the thick of the action. Penalised for a high tackle on Adrian Morley. Needed a pain-killing injection in a shoulder after the break.
