Producing under pressure Final: Mark Williams v Ken Doherty
How Williams clinched the final frame
With the score delicately poised at 17-16 in his favour, Williams opened up a 43-point lead in the 34th frame before finding himself out of position.
The world number one played a simple safety shot to leave the white ball on the bottom cushion and Doherty played the ball deadweight into the pack of reds.
For most players, one frame away from the World Championship, the only shot would be to play safe, but not Williams.
After weighing up all his options, he decided that attack was the best form of defence and hit an audacious - not to mention risky - double into the middle right pocket and leaving him on the black.
Williams never looked back and a break of 77 took him over the finishing line for a 270,000 payday.
