Doctor Fremantle came from last place to win the Princess of Wales's Blue Square Stakes at Newmarket.

Champion jockey Ryan Moore successfully held the 8-1 chance back in the Group Two contest before bursting to victory.

Alwaary looked to be challenging but as jockey Richard Hills made his charge along the rail, Schiaparelli closed the door and forced Hills to pull out.

Following a stewards' inquiry, Alwaary was placed second with Schiaparelli demoted to third place.

Favourite Duncan and second-favourite Campanologist made bright starts but fell away disappointingly.

There was also interference further down the field with Enroller being demoted to sixth from fourth, while Indian Days was promoted to fourth from fifth and All The Aces placed fifth from sixth.

Winning jockey Moore was delighted his tactics had worked.

"We got a nice lead and I followed Duncan, who I thought was the horse to beat, and that just kept him interested and he settled nicely," he said.

"When he was in front he was probably only doing enough.

"He's won two Group Threes already and run well in two Group Ones, this is about what he is."
