McCoy has also endured his fair share of injuries over the years. During his career he has broken his ankle, his arm, his wrist and his leg but in January 2008 he broke vertebra in his back after a heavy fall at Warwick before battling back be fit to ride at Cheltenham a little over eight weeks later His recovery was aided by Kriotherapy treatment, which involved going into an insulated compartment with temperatures as low as minus 135 degrees. "The Warwick injury was probably the worst pain I have endured," he said. "I also broke my wrist pretty badly in Ireland a couple of years ago and it was basically hanging on by the skin, which wasn't great to look at. "Injuries are part of the game but there are a lot of lads out there who have had as many injuries, maybe more than me, who have had a lot less reward so I'm quite lucky."
