The well-backed Iffraaj justified favouritism to take the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot at York with an impressive display. The 9-4 chance gave jockey Philip Robinson compensation for having to give up the ride on Cape Of Good Hope in the Golden Jubilee Stakes.
The Michael Jarvis-trained four-year-old stormed home by two lengths.
Beckermet was second with Peter Paul Rubens two lengths back in third.
The 17-strong field split into two groups, with Fire Up The Band taking them along on the far side tracked by Iffraaj while Peter Paul Rubens and Smokin Beau led on the stands rail.
Iffraaj hit the front a furlong and a half out, with Beckermet the only one to put in a real challenge.
But even he was shrugged off in the final 100 yards as the favourite ran out a convincing winner.
"I thought Rakti and this horse were my best chances of the week," said trainer Jarvis. "Things didn't go our way with Rakti, but everything has gone right today."
