The third consecutive 197km stage sees the Tour move into France for the first time of the race.
History
Waterloo is synonymous with Abba and the day the threat of Napoleon was quashed by the Duke of Wellington.

After a day of toil over the cobblestones, Jean-Patrick Nazon blitzed his way to the stage victory over Robbie McEwen.
