Marks played college basketball for Morehead State Eagles |
Plymouth Raiders have bolstered their squad with the signing of American guard Chez Marks. The 30-year-old has been without a club since leaving the Cheshire Jets at the end of the 2009/10 season. Raiders boss Gavin Love said: "We're getting a proven player who will turn in consistently good performances. "He's bringing a wealth of experience to the team and will give the team a real boost and I have no doubt that he'll be a big hit with the Raiders." Love added: "For someone who shoots the ball a lot, he finishes with a very high shooting percentage of over 60%." Alongside two years at the Cheshire Jets, Marks has also played for London Towers, and French sides Boulogne and Chalon. Marks' arrival in Plymouth has led to Brian McKenzie being released from his contract with the Raiders, ensuring the club stay within the limit of three foreign players. Love said: "Brian will tell you that his performance just weren't consistent enough to justify us keeping him, especially when players of the calibre of Chez are still available. "I've promised to help Brian try and find a new team, and would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the very best for the rest of the season."
