Plaxico Burress of the Giants and Randy Moss of the Patriots both combine size and speed to create match-up problems for opposing defences.
Moss, in his first season with New England after a difficult few years, set an NFL record with 23 touchdown catches.
He was not a major factor, however, in play-off wins over Jacksonville and San Diego and he must turn that form around in the big game.
Burress, by contrast, played his best game of the season, with 11 catches for 154 yards, in the NFC title win over Green Bay.
