| | Ricardo Santos and Emanuel Rego outclassed Spain's Javier Bosma and Pablo Herrera to take beach volleyball gold for Brazil. Sydney silver medallist Ricardo dominated the match at the net as they wrapped up the match 21-16 21-15. Fifteenth-seeded Bosma and Herrera were always trailing the world champions, who have dominated the world tour for the the past two seasons. Ricardo won silver for Brazil in 2000 with a different partner.
