In the week leading up to the race, I went cycling with seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and World Superbike rider Troy Bayliss. I've got some mates in Austin, Texas, who live very close to Lance and I've ridden with him before. We went up one of his favourite roads in the mountains near Monaco. It's a hell of a ride. A steep, long, twisting climb, with big drops. Lance has retired, but he has still got plenty of tricks in his drawer. One of our mates, Morris Denton, had a nasty accident when he crashed head-on into a car. But fortunately we got him some help and he was OK after a stay in hospital.
