John McGuinness has won two races at the Ulster Grand Prix

Dundrod course lap record holder John McGuinness is a doubtful starter for next month's Ulster Grand Prix.

The Morecambe rider had been due to ride a Padgetts Superbike at the event but the Yorkshire team will only field Ian Hutchinson in the premier class.

Hutchinson has already ridden the outfit's only Superbike at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT this year.

McGuinness rides for Padgetts in the British Superstock series and has been a regular competitor at Dundrod.

The 37-year-old rode for the HM Plant Honda team at the first two international road races of the year but they have decided not to compete at the UGP.
