Two spectators take cover from the rain at the Dundrod circuit |
This year's Ulster Grand Prix has been cancelled after heavy rain prevented racing from taking place at the Dundrod circuit on Saturday. A final decision was made to call off the meeting at 1400 BST and attempts to hold the event on Sunday failed. "Financially it's a disaster for us - whether we (Dundrod Club) can bounce from this remains to be seen," said Clerk of the Course Noel Johnston. Two UGP races in 2007 were cancelled after heavy rainfall.
