Kung comeback seals title
Wachovia LPGA Classic

Candie Kung
Kung showed good mental strength to achieve the win
Candie Kung shot a two-under-par 70 to win by two strokes after producing a gutsy performance on Sunday.

Finishing at 14-under 288, Kung overcame a slow start to fend off rivals Se Ri Pak and Meg Mallon.

Kung fell behind after a par at the first hole and bogeys at the second and third.

But consecutive birdies at eight, nine and 10 saw her regain the lead and claim her second title of the season - adding to her victory in the Takefuji Classic in Las Vegas in April.

WPGA Championship of Europe

Stephanie Arricau takes a two-shot lead into the final round at Royal Porthcawl.

The Frenchwoman shot a rather disappointing 74 on Sunday to move to four under par and leads Germany's Elisabeth Ester and Shani Waugh and Rebecca Stevenson of Australia.

Welsh amateur Becky Brewerton kept herself in contention with a one-under-par round of 72 to sit three shots off the lead.

THIRD ROUND LEADERBOARD
-4 Stephanie Arricau (Fra)
-2 Rebecca Stevenson (Aus), Elisabeth Ester (Ger), Shani Waugh (Aus)
-1 Rachel Bailey (Eng), Sara Beautell (Spa), Kirsty Taylor (Eng), Becky Brewerton (Wal), Ludivine Kreutz (Fra), Ana Larraneta (Spa)
She can sense a real opportunity to become the first amateur to win on the European ladies tour since Scotland's Gillian Stewart in the 1984 European Open.

England's Kirsty Taylor joined Brewerton on one under par after strong back nine brought birdies on the 10th, 13th and 16th.

If Taylor can pull off her first win in her 10th season as a professional, she will also secure a place in Europe's Solheim Cup team.

European captain Catrin Nilsmark names her Solheim side at the end of championship on Monday, with the top seven in the rankings being joined by five wild cards.

Laura Davies is the only Briton to have already secured her place.

Scotland's Mhairi McKay is in seventh place and, having missed the cut in Wales after a second-round 78, must hope that no-one knocks her out.
