Storms save Sabbatini's lead
Rory Sabbatini lines up a putt on the 9th green in the second round of the Capital Open
Sabbatini has won just one event on the PGA Tour
Rory Sabbatini remains the leader of the Capital Open after heavy rain forced the postponement of Saturday's third round in the Maryland event.

The South African moved to eight under par on Friday and lies two shots clear of David Duval, Sweden's Niclas Fasth, Notah Begay III and Tom Gillis.

PGA Tour officials have rescheduled the third round for Sunday and the fourth and final round for Monday.

With the Potomac area having seen rain on 28 of the last 38 days, more downpours had been expected and early tee times had been set up for Saturday to try and beat the weather.

But the rains arrived early in the morning and no players even teed off.

The decision to play the final round on Monday could cause problems for some players heading for the US Open near Chicago, although none has yet withdrawn.

Two players ranked among the top 10 in the world, number three Davis Love III and number seven Padraig Harrington, survived the cut.

Love trails Sabbatini by seven shots while Harrington is six back. World number six Phil Mickelson missed the cut by one shot.

Tournament director Mark Russell said: "We're going to schedule 18 holes tomorrow, starting at 1045 to 1245.

"We've got a good forecast for tomorrow. We've got a good forecast on Monday."
