Webb is chasing her fifth Australian Masters title in six years

Karrie Webb made light of the difficult conditions to set the pace in a rain-affected second round of the ANZ Australian Masters.

Webb fired six birdies before bad light forced her to abandon play for the day on 10 under with two to play at the Royal Pines Resort on Queensland's Gold Coast.

The Australian has yet to drop a shot in the tournament and is firmly on course to win the title for the fifth time in six years.

England's Laura Davies dropped a shot at her opening hole but hit back with birdies at the third, sixth, 11th and 15th to lie second on eight under with three to play.

New Zealand's Brenda Ormsby shares the clubhouse lead with Scotland's Janice Moodie on seven under after a six-under 66.

And England's Johanna Head moved into contention on six under with a 66.

Moodie had to wait around for well over two hours in the early morning downpour before starting her round.

But she picked up three birdies for a 69 to raise her hopes of going one better than her second place in the tournament four years ago.

"It was tough having to hang around, and then the course was really wet," said Moodie.

"We were allowed to lift and drop, but there were some places where it was almost impossible to find anywhere that wasn't wet."
