I think the main problem for Portugal was that they didnt get the ball to Ronaldo enough. The kid could win it for them, if they'd only trust him. Figo is a class act all the way. The played far too defensively for my liking today though. Ronaldo was unlucky on two occasions not to score, great header off the bar and a great save from the keeper denied him what would have been a well deserved goal.

African teams have definitely improved my impression of African football since the tournament began, and this performance was no different. I thought that Angola had a few chances to score a dramatic equaliser.

Digusting. As soon as Ronaldo comes off the game has turned into the worst so far. Scolari has ruined an otherwise good game with his terrible decisions. Ronaldo was the only person capable of playing football in this one. Shame on you Scolari.

Angola are very disappointing: slow in defense, very unimaginative in attack. Another game lacking in conviction and intensity. Anyone else feel that most games so far have felt like friendlies in the way the players conduct themselves and the games are played? Anyone else feel this lack of intensity or is it just me?

How refreshing to see a team run at the defence like Portugal are doing. Eriksson says England are the best in the world at set pieces - how does he expect us to get free-kicks if we don't run at the defence??

At least Angola have found some shape. I thought Portugal were in danger of embarrassing them at the start.
2025: Smith will be back
I hope African teams do themselves credit and at least one gets through to the knockout stage. It's difficult to justify their qualifaction on the basis of quality rather than location.

At the moment Portugal are in full control. Angola on the other hand look nervy. Portugal could run away with it.

1-0, Pauleta after four minutes - this could be a walkover. Angola seem totally out of sorts. They keep slipping on the turf. Do they have the right studs?

Remember the last time these two teams met, the match was abandoned. This will be an explosive passionate match and anything can happen. Sit and watch...

COME ON ANGOLA ! Wipe that smug smile off Scolari's face.. Hope Portugal lose all 3 games and get beat 7-0. Go home Portugal, noone wants you to win.
1948: Bring Back Communism
The games so far in the World Cup have been very close between the big and smaller teams so i dont expect this to be any different. Portugal will have to work for the result. But I can't see Angola getting anything out of this game. They are on paper the weakest team in the tournament.

Portugal seem to have a nice technical team, looking forward to see them in action. I hope this match is intense and played with conviction. I'm going to watch Angola for the first time so I shall be discovering them.
I just checked his career stats and Pauleta has 46 goals for Portugal in 82 caps even though every time I've seen him he has looked very, very ordinary for PSG and Portugal in Euro 2004. Does the portuguese public rate him highly?
As usual I am rooting for the underdogs, come on Angola!
1932: Genius of Roo
Ronaldo will tear them apart. Will Pauleta finally perform at a major tournament though? The team hasnt changed at all since the Euro's and I expect Portugal to go very, very close in this World Cup.
