Rendell started his career at Aldershot Town

Torquay United have signed striker Scott Rendell on a season-long loan from Peterborough United.

Rendell was on loan at Cambridge United for the second part of last season and featured for the U's in their play-off final defeat by Torquay at Wembley.

The 22-year-old has also spent a spell on loan at Yeovil Town since signing for Peterborough in February 2008.

The Gulls face Brighton on Tuesday in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday with Rendell expected to appear.
