Woods made 228 appearances for Grimsby during his playing career

Grimsby Town manager Neil Woods has said he will not resign and has not been given an ultimatum over his job.

Chairman John Fenty issued a statement after their FA Trophy exit at Chasetown saying the club must pick up points in the next two "very important" games.

But Woods told BBC Radio Humberside he does not think the statement means his position is under serious threat.

He said: "No conversation has been had. People have interpreted it that way. I won't chuck it in."

Grimsby lost two matches in the Blue Square Bet Premier before losing to Chasetown, a team from three divisions lower down the non-League pyramid, a result described by Fenty on the club website as "a terrible and very disappointing loss".

The Mariners' next two games are at home to Kettering on Tuesday, followed by the visit of promotion hopefuls Crawley Town to Blundell Park on Saturday.
