Chairman warns Cornforth
Exeter co-chairman John Russell has warned manager John Cornforth that he expects a much higher league position.

The Grecians are 21st in Division Three after their 4-0 defeat at Wrexham in midweek, leaving Russell unhappy after the investment that has been made in the squad.

"We've brought in an abundance of players," Russell told the Express and Echo.

"We've pushed the boat out to be in a dog-fight for the play-offs - not a dog-fight against relegation.

He added that Cornforth's immediate future was secure - but that results must improve.

"If we don't get a result on Saturday, then we've got to talk in depth.

"We put in a lot of hard work through the summer and we're not prepared to just throw it away."
