Losing Andy Melville so near to the kick-off was the key element in Wales' 2-0 loss.

It made Mark Hughes' team groggy and it was a dodgy start for them as they stood off England, after three minutes all the plans were up in the air. I was very disappointed, because before Melville withdrew the team picked itself - I thought we had a balanced-looking side that could get something at Old Trafford.
But, with all due respect, there's a squad in place and you should be prepared for every possibility.
It must have been easier to make a direct replacement, and as James Collins has been training with the squad all week you would think he could have come in for Melville.
The change that was made was not the right one and it threw Wales.
By switching Mark Delaney to centre-back and moving Simon Davies to right-back we really limited our options.
Craig Bellamy and Davies have shown the quality to cut a team as good as Italy apart down the right-hand side, and Davies is the one player who can offer us something different, a bit extra in midfield.

Mark Pembridge and Gary Speed have been great professionals, but the longer their careers go on the more they are going to struggle. England did all they needed to without ever putting their foot on the accelerator, it could have been a real hiding if their forwards had been less selfish.
Wayne Rooney has the one thing you can't teach players, movement - Barry John would have been proud of some of his side-steps!
It was still only 1-0 deep into the second half, though, and as bad as things were going Wales still had a chance.
But David Beckham stepped up and struck a fantastic goal, right in the top corner.
Now, Wales have gone nine competitive matches without victory and they just have to get a win against Poland on Wednesday.
There's still a long way to go and we need England to go out and beat all the other sides in the group.
Wales have to target 17 points and second place. There are seven games left and they have to win five of them.
