When it comes to splashing the cash, Chelsea are in a league of their own. And if the final league table looks anything like the summer spending table, then Blues fans will be more than happy.
Chelsea have spent three times that of their nearest rivals, Manchester United, whose own outlay rocketed them from mid-table obscurity to second this week.
If league positions are relevant to summer spending, then bold spending by Spurs, Birmingham and Blackburn will result in European football next season.
And newly promoted Portsmouth, Leicester and Wolves would all survive.
But then, money cannot buy success... can it?
