Cowan keeps the faith at Telford

Gavin Cowan is convinced that Telford can go on to win promotion

Telford defender Gavin Cowan says that any leg-pulling about his Christian faith will not put him off his game.

"I enjoy the dressing-room banter and if anything it makes me stronger," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"The lads saw me having a quick prayer before a game early this season, and they all lined up in the tunnel to do the same - but we went on to win.

"I don't ram it down people's throats, but it's made me a better person - and if it helps others, then that's great."

Cowan - who played League football for Shrewsbury - is looking good for Telford this season. And he feels that the squad is beginning to gel for a real Blue Square North promotion push.

"We've had a funny sort of start, but it's coming together now and I feel confident that we can go up."

Telford - unbeaten in their last four games - host Workington this weekend.
