And the Arsenal manager refused to be drawn on an altercation between Thierry Henry and PSV midfielder Mark van Bommel, saying he did not see the incident.

PSV coach Guus Hiddink played down suggestions that Van Bommel spat at Henry.

"I don't know anything about this but let's not be cissies about it," said Hiddink.

"Players from both sides do things to one another and I suggest you watch the whole tape of the game before picking on just one."

And Hiddink admitted his side lacked the experience to progress in the Champions League.

"We failed to do well in our home matches, we were rather naive in this respect," said Hiddink.

"Those early mistakes, against big clubs, made it difficult for us. We showed that we did not know how to play Champions League football at home."
