Edwards will be leading England for the first time in a home series |
England's women have selected two uncapped players in a squad of 14 for the Test and one-day series against India this summer. Sussex's teenage wicket-keeper/batsman Sarah Taylor and Kent medium-pacer Lynsey Askew are the new additions.
Left-arm spinner Holly Colvin, who made her debut aged 15 against Australia last summer, is also included.
Charlotte Edwards leads the side and said: "I'm relishing the opportunity with such a talented side."
The first of the five-match one-day series will be played at Lord's, and there will be free admission to the public.
There will also be a Twenty20 match and two Tests in a busy schedule that runs until early September.
Head Coach Richard Bates believes the players have an excellent chance against India, who beat them 4-1 in their home one-day series in December.
He said: "This squad includes some very talented youngsters and we felt it was a good time to introduce them.
"We're at full strength and all have high hopes of a successful summer in all three formats of the game."
England, expected to tour India in a quadrangular series involving New Zealand and Australia, are also looking towards the World Cup in 2009
