England women suffer Brindle blow
England all-rounder Arran Brindle has decided to take a break from top-level cricket to spend time with her family.

She will miss the domestic Super 4s and the visit of India later this summer.

Brindle, 24, played the first of 58 one-day internationals against South Africa six years ago and is recognised as one of England's best fielders.

"I have decided to take an extended break for personal reasons and to spend more time with my family whilst looking to develop my career," she said.

Coach Richard Bates said: "It is disappointing that Arran has decided to retire from international cricket at this point. She has been a key member of our squad in recent series.

"We are looking forward to the challenge of playing India this summer and losing Arran will force our hand in terms of a change in the batting line-up."
