He has been a regular member of the one-day squad for eight years, has played county cricket with Kent, where he topped the batting and bowling averages in 2006, and has experience of West Indian conditions having taken 2-21 in Port-of-Spain in 2005.

In November he produced a fine all-round display with an unbeaten 56 followed by 3-45 against India.
