Ganga paid tribute to Chanderpaul's unbeaten ton |
West Indies skipper Daren Ganga insisted his side would improve again for the final Test despite a narrow loss to England at Old Trafford. England dismissed the tourists for 394 to win the third Test by 60 runs and seal the series with a match to go.
Ganga said: "Compared to the last Test it's been a wonderful improvement - the guys played really well.
"It was a very competitive Test match. Congratulations to England, but we're looking forward to the last Test now."
Ganga paid tribute to Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who hit an unbeaten 116 as the West Indies came close to pulling off a stunning fightback.
England captain Michael Vaughan hailed Chanderpaul's knock as one of the best Test innings he had ever seen.
And Ganga said: "Shiv showed what a class player he is.
"He led from the front for us. It was a shame for him that his innings couldn't help is win the match, but I'm sure his knock will inspire us for the final Test."
Chanderpaul thanked Vaughan for his tribute, saying: "He told me that out there. It was very tough to bat out there so to have compliments from him is very nice.
"It was pretty hard out there - Monty Panesar was putting the ball in the right areas."
The fourth Test starts on Friday in Durham.
