Smith made an impact in the first Test against England |
West Indies batsman Devon Smith has been sent home to Grenada to rest his injured left thumb. Smith, who scored a century in the first Test against England, was ruled out of the Barbados match after the injury was confirmed as a fracture.
The opener will not be available for the fourth and final Test in Antigua nor the first one-dayer in Guyana.
A WICB statement read: "Smith has been advised to rest the injury for the next three weeks."
Smith's injury will be reassessed on 23 April, the day before the second limited-overs international in Trinidad.
