Taylor scored his first one-day ton against Worcestershire
Leicestershire head coach Tim Boon has predicted a bright future for James Taylor following his match-winning century against Worcestershire.
The 19-year-old made 101 as the Foxes won Tuesday's Friends Provident Trophy match at New Road by 18 runs.
Boon told BBC Radio Leicester: "Getting this one-day hundred is a huge point in his career - he has so much potential.
"He looked mature in the way he knocked the ball around and young Taylor did it for us again."
Taylor's superb knock followed a maiden first-class century which saved his side from defeat on the final day of their recent County Championship match against Middlesex.
He faced 109 balls for his 101, hitting a six and seven fours, but was run out attempting a third near the end of Leicestershire's innings.
The victory means Leicestershire are three points behind new leaders Hampshire with three games left to play.
The Foxes travel to Ireland on Thursday, before rounding off the group stage with home matches against Worcestershire and Nottinghamshire.
Boon added: "We go to Ireland and if we can win there then who knows what can happen.
"The Irish are a formidable team and they will push all the professional teams to the wire."
