India captain Sourav Ganguly said the VB Series was too long after his side conceded the title to Australia with a 208-run defeat in the second final. "It's especially hard when you've played four Test matches," said Ganguly, who also played 10 one-dayers.
"I don't think it's fair to change the finals but we can reduce the number of group games."
Australia begin a tour of Sri Lanka on Friday and Ganguly said: "It will be hard work, but Sri Lanka can win."

However the India skipper refused to accept opposite number Ricky Ponting's theory his side were simply tired at the end of a tour lasting 11 weeks. "They lifted their game but we just didn't perform," he said. "We are tired but that's not an excuse, they played the same amount of cricket as us."
Ganguly complained to Ponting about a comment he received from one of Australia's fielders as he went out to bat but he played down the incident afterwards.
"There was a reason for it, which I don't want to make public. It happened from the time I walked out of the gate until I reached the stumps," he added.
"I'm not upset. I just told [Ponting] I don't want to start it all over again. I told him I don't want to blow it out of proportion."
