Fast bowler Ryan Sidebottom has played 21 Tests for England
England paceman Ryan Sidebottom will line up for Staffordshire club side Leek on Saturday in a bid to prove his fitness ahead of the Ashes.
The 31-year-old will turn out against Leycett in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire Premier League.
Sidebottom has been struggling with hip and groin problems for nearly a year.
Leek captain Jamie Cullerton told BBC Radio Stoke: "He needed to get a game and luckily we were in the right place at the right time to get him."
Cullerton added: "It's not every day that you lead out an England international, so it'll be certainly a moment that I'll savour. We're all looking forward to it."
Sidebottom made his Test debut against Pakistan in 2001, but had to wait another six years for his second international cap.
In all, he has taken 77 wickets in 21 Tests, and became the 11th Englishman to take a hat-trick in Test cricket, achieving the feat against New Zealand in 2008.
