India stunned world champions and favourites Australia in the last eight thanks to a composed 84 from a young Yuvraj Singh and a spectacular catch from namesake Robin to remove Ricky Ponting.

England's campaign was again ended by South Africa but the Proteas came unstuck when Sourav Ganguly struck a majestic 141 to lead India into the final.

New Zealand knocked out Pakistan in the last four thanks to a fine cameo from Scott Styris and then produced an even bigger shock.

Chris Cairns' superb unbeaten 102 helped the Kiwis overcome another Ganguly ton and a middle-order slump to take the trophy home.
