Pollock took two wickets in the morning session

South Africa completed a 189-run win as West Indies were bowled out half way through the final day.

Shaun Pollock and Makahaya Ntini each took four wickets and the tourists could only manage 188 in their second innings at the Wanderers.

Brian Lara, who hit 202 in the first innings, was bowled off inside edge by Pollock for just five as West Indies plunged to 43-5 early on.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul hit a classy 74 but there was little resistance.

Initially set 378 to win, West Indies began the final day on 31-3 after a torrid 10 overs of batting on Monday evening.

Ramnaresh Sarwan was lbw to a Pollock delivery that kept low and Lara chopped onto his stumps in the first five overs of the morning.

Chanderpaul and Ridley Jacobs lasted 101 minutes together, adding 98 in partnership.

But once Andre Nel had bowled Jacobs, the end came quickly.

Pollock finally ended Chanderpaul's classy innings before Nel had the injured Chris Gayle caught behind.

The last rites were completed when man-of-the-match Ntini bowled Merv Dillon and Pollock removed Corey Collymore lbw.
