We've been treated to some wonderful entertainment throughout the day in the Champions Cup.

It all started with that 16-try, 110-point affair between Bristol and the Bulls, then we had the drama of Leinster's late win over La Rochelle and Leicester romping to victory over Bayonne.

Glasgow beat Clermont to make it maximum points from three games, Sale qualified for the last 16 with a win over Sharks, but there was disappointment for the Scarlets who fell to a home defeat at the hands of Pau.

Enjoy your Saturday night and join us back here tomorrow lunchtime when we will bring you all of Sunday's action - expect fireworks!

    Pool 2: Toulon v Munster (13:00)

    Pool 3: Harlequins v Stormers (13:00)

    Pool 4: Bordeaux v Northampton (15:15)

  3. Stadium falls silent as pressure builds on Peelpublished at 22:15 GMT 10 January

    FT: Scarlets 38-47 Pau

I said pre kick-off that given their United Rugby Championship form, this could prove a season-defining night for Scarlets.

They launched a momentous comeback from 26-10 down to lead 38-26, scored five tries, and possessed a genuine threat that was sorely lacking in the festive defeats to Ospreys and Dragons.

However, in truth, another woeful defensive display cost them dear. Dwayne Peel can point to positives, but he can't point to ill-luck when his side have just conceded six tries - and 14 in three games.

A win would have provided some light amongst the negativity, and indeed uncertainty, that continues to engulf professional rugby in Wales. The silence that greeted the final whistle simply underlined the current despondency.

They expected 5,000 at the Parc tonight. It appeared like considerably less but now, Peel faces a real challenge to try and galvanise his players - and supporters - for the remainder of this season.

  5. 'The boys were magnificent'published at 22:01 GMT 10 January

    FT: Leicester 57-14 Bayonne

Leicester full-back Freddie Steward, speaking to Premier Sports:

"It was nice to get the bonus point early. The boys were magnificent, we prepped in the week and we turned up tonight."

    On man-of-the-match Billy Searle:

"He’s some boy, he’s come in and taken the bull by the horns. He’s been magnificent, he leads well, he’s class and his decision making is great. He oozes calmness and composure, he’s fantastic."

  6. 'The boys are flourishing'published at 21:56 GMT 10 January

    FT: Leicester 57-14 Bayonne

Tigers fly-half Billy Searle talking to Premier Sports:

"It was good fun, a little bit cold but it was a proper team performance, we talked about backing up last week's performance and I think we did that. A lot of forwards getting tries there so it was a really good team performance.

"It’s exciting. Our game is always to move the ball and that suits my game down to a tee. The boys are flourishing, there’s a long way we can go and it’s a very promising sign going forward.

"I don’t score many tries so i'll take it when they come, it's nice to get tries but it's a solid win and big five points for us."

  7. Full-time: Scarlets 38-47 Paupublished at 21:55 GMT 10 January

Scarlets attack but Blair Murray is penalised for holding on and that signals the end of a pulsating 80 minutes.

Could they have? Should they have? Questions that are academic for the Welsh side in terms of their chances of progressing from Pool 4.

A demoralising defeat for Dwayne Peel's side after fighting back to lead by 12 points in the second half. But ultimately, they've fallen short in Europe for the third time this season.

    Tokolahi try, Desperes con

    And that is that.

A midfield burst from Toshi Butlin does the damage. The winger doesn't quite get his hat-trick, but he sets up the platform for replacement prop Siate Tokolahi to drive over.

Desperes converts and Scarlets don't have the time to get two scores.

They need to keep playing her though, as a second bonus point is still up for grabs.

  9. Full-timepublished at 21:48 GMT 10 January

    Leicester 57-14 Bayonne

It's all over - job very well done for Tigers.

After two defeats in their opening two games this win has kept them in contention and given themselves a chance of progression to the round of 16 next week.

As for Bayonne, it's another heavy defeat.

    Emeka Ilione (con: Joe Woodward)

The hole opens up in the Bayonne defence and Emeka Ilione cuts back against the grain to cross the line.

  11. Disallowed try: Scarlets 38-40 Paupublished at 74 mins

    Was that the moment?

Scarlets number eight Fletcher Anderson picks up from a five-metre scrum and appears to go under the posts.

However, referee Sam Grove-White spoils the party by ruling Anderson had the ball legally stripped from him before he grounded it.

Replays indicate it was the correct call. Scarlets still have time but that moment could be pivotal.

  12. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Leicester 50-14 Bayonne

Tigers win the scrum penalty and will have one final chance.

    Attissogbe try, Desperes con

Scarlets have gone from a harrowing start, to a momentous comeback, and now to the brink of an agonising defeat.

Sam Lousi gives away a careless penalty and it gives Pau the chance to set up a close range line-out. From the pressure that follows, Theo Attissogbe jinks over under the posts and the Top 14 team are back in front.

The way this game has unfolded mind, don't rule out further twists.

    Emosi Tumania (con: Pyrenees Boyle-Tiatia)

Bayonne haven't had much to shout about tonight but that's a memorable moment for substitute prop Emosi Tumania!

He puts in a barnstorming run bashing players out of his way to score from distance.

Fellow sub Herschel Jantjies has been excellent since coming on too - he made a couple of good breaks before that score.

    Ollie Chessum (con: Searle)

A charged down kick and there's another one!

50 points for the Tigers against bewildered Bayonne.

Ollie Chessum races clear and Billy Searle adds the extras.

Both are then replaced as is the fashion in tonight's game.

    Seneca try, Desperes con

    The pendulum swings again!

It's turning into some contest this. Pau hammer away with a series of forward carries but when the try eventually comes, it's looks soft.

Scarlets defenders seem to get in the way of each other and replacement prop Remi Seneca can't believe his luck, He buries over from a few metres out before Desperes converts - and we have quite the finish in store here.

    Billy Searle

    Billy Searle has a nine-minute hat-trick!

This could be any score from here to be honest.

Tigers keep coming at Bayonne who are in for a long 20 minutes.

  19. Sin-bin: Baptiste Tilloles (Bayonne)published at 56 mins

    Leicester 38-7 Bayonne

To make things even more difficult for Bayonne they are now down to 14 men.

It's the scrum-half Baptiste Tilloles who is deemed to have deliberately knocked on while making a tackle.

The replays aren't working in the stadium so the call comes from the TMO rather than the referee - Tilloles will argue it wasn't deliberate and he was just making a tackle.

  20. try

Converted try: Scarlets 38-26 Paupublished at 51 mins

    Hawkins try and con

This has been some fightback and now, Scarlets have daylight.

Ryan Elias finds Taine Plumtree at the line-out and although the forward drive comes up inches short, outside half Joe Hawkins soon cuts over from close range.

The home side are now not only leading, but they look in control. It gets worse for Pau too - centre Nathan Decron has been yellow carded for an infringement in the build-up to the try.
