Prop Lovejoy Chawatama has become the latest Bristol Bears player to agree a new deal with the Prem club.

The 33-year-old follows fellow props Jake Woolmore and Max Lahiff, as well as back Noah Heward and academy prospects Sam Worsley and Aidan Boshoff who have had new contracts announced in the past five days.

Chawatama, a tight-head prop, joined Bristol in 2024 from Harlequins and has made 21 appearances since then, including nine this season.

"After an injury-disrupted first season with the Bears, LJ has shown tremendous resilience and consistency this year, delivering a series of strong performances and demonstrating his quality and experience in both the Premiership and in Europe," said director of rugby Pat Lam.

"He is a powerful scrummager who has developed his all-round game significantly since arriving at the club, contributing on both sides of the ball."

Bristol have not disclosed the length of Chawatama's new deal.
