Right that is your lot.

It was a 22-year wait for an Ashes series but nothing has changed.

You can read all about how Australia wrapped up a 3-0 series whitewash in my colleague Emma Smith's report from Headingley.

There will be lots for England and head coach Shaun Wane to reflect upon but at least their performances in the second and third Tests showed they could mix it with the best in the business.

England's Jez Litten, speaking to BBC One: "Disappointing like the first two Tests. It felt like we had a lot of ball and didn't capitalise on it.

"Credit to Australia, that's why they're world champions.

"Whenever you drop down they score. Great learning and proud to be part of this camp.

"We're a team building to a World Cup. I think we have a strong team, but connections could be better.

"We had a lot of ball, but that final pass. That little detail that they nailed and we didn't.

"Gutted we lost an Ashes series, but proud to be part of it."

We want to grow the game so we take it to London. But then what is actually best for the game? If you are a viewer at home that is new to rugby league, it doesn't come across like it looks important, if you see a two-thirds full Wembley.

Australia's player of the series Cameron Munster, speaking to BBC One: "Look, I don't think the scoreline reflected the game. We got lucky at times, we took our moments. They had some line breaks, and we scrambled really well.

"We were very lucky with some of those things tonight.

"Playing here at Headingley, Wembley, and Everton - I thought London was a bit quiet.

"Hopefully, we can grow the game a little more. I know the NRL is speaking to Super League, and hopefully we can build that bridge.

"Some of these boys over here have some class footy in them.

"We have been fortunate with our spine, and we haven't jumbled. We have been lucky to transition in the last few years. When you get a young spine you have to be able to do those combinations.

"I think they play some good footy, but it is about that building.

"You can't expect them [England] to be playing like the Harlem Globetrotters. You put a half-back [Mikey Lewis] at full-back, and I thought he was really good."

"We have all been kids - to be able to come over here - the last thing you want to be is arrogant and disrespectful to the fans. We are trying to give back to the fans.

"It has been 23 years. I won't come back here unless I'm in a wheelchair. It is about giving back to the game."

We have too many players that take a play off in defence and attack. That is something we need to solve.

The excitement we have round the game is massive. There were periods where I was enthused by what England did but did they really believe they could win?

I am not sure we felt that from every player in that squad.

Shaun Wane needs to figure out what his best spine is moving forward. We chopped and changed. He will look back and reflect that he should have figured it out before game one.

England head coach Shaun Wane, speaking to BBC One: "We weren't at it today enough. Australia were worthy winners. We didn't deserve to win today. You need to be good for long periods. It's not Samoa or Tonga, and I don't mean that disrespectfully. They stay at it, Australia. We didn't stay at it long enough. That's something we need to fix in competition."

Can you bridge the gap to Australia? "We have to. We need to make sure that teams see the best of us. The frustrating part for me is that in these games we've played, they've not seen the best of us for long periods. We've got a lot of work to do to make sure we give a good account of ourselves at the World Cup."

Are you the man to do that? "Absolutely. No question about that."

More from England captain George Williams, speaking to BBC One about Australia scoring after England's domination: "That was a killer. We had some possession down there, they came down and that was probably a killer. It deflated us big time.

"We had a bit of a disconnect there. When they're in front by two tries, you know you're chasing the game."

On Mikey Lewis: "Mikey has not played full-back all year. It is a specialist position, so as good as Mikey is, it is a hard position to play. One of the most vital on the park. I would have hated to be chucked in at full-back with them bombs, so credit to him.

On team morale: "We built it over the last three to four years. The disappointing thing is we believed we could come here and win the series. There is a lot of reflecting to do. Even though we're not a million miles away, the scoreboard looks like that."

England

England captain George Williams, speaking to BBC One: "That shows the team we're playing against. We have said things similar in all three Tests. We're in the game for 60 minutes. We had some good ball down there, we didn't execute, they come down here and scored. That's the game. It is disappointing, but it shows we have a lot to work on."

On the hardest factor of facing Australia: "Probably posting points. Their goal line defence was really good. They seem to break us more easily than we could. Loads to work on. Disappointing to go 3-0 down.

"We believed we could make history, but we haven't done it. It shows where we're at going into a World Cup next year."

On the half-time talk: "We said we have got to get it right – I feel like we did. It was probably the last 15 minutes that did us this time."

You don't see much drop off from Australia, in terms of intensity.

They manage to keep their intensity throughout the whole game.

Smallest ground, best atmosphere?

Stick a rugby league match on a rugby league ground and critics of the venues would say 'that's what you get'.

Australia captain Isaah Yeo, speaking to BBC One: "Start of the series wasn't how I planned it going [getting injured].

"Proud how the group handled all three games, but there were periods it wasn't great.

"We have got that X factor that can break a game open. 20-odd years – way too long to not have the Ashes.

"To get over here and have an opportunity against the England side, we didn't take it for granted.

"We have a hard-working group really proud of how the boys come together.

"Those connections take you on for the rest of your life."

As the schedule stands, this will be England's last international until the 2026 World Cup next October. And it will be the final time they play at home until a series against New Zealand in 2027.

Given the paucity of games, is it really such a shock they are so far behind Australia?

Australia vice-captain Harry Grant, speaking to BBC One: "It's been awesome. For a lot of Australians, it's been our first chance to play against England, and for the England boys, it's been a first opportunity to play against Australia.

"It's been enjoyable. I hope everyone's enjoyed the spectacle of the three games. We've played some really good footy. London, Liverpool and now here in Leeds: This is the best atmosphere we've had, so thanks everyone for turning up. Hopefully this contest can keep going for many years to come."

Other Australian players may have been more glamorous picks, but Cameron Munster has been outstanding across all three games and is a worthy winner.

Cameron Munster is named player of the series. Hard to argue against that selection. The Melbourne Storm man has been sensational.
