Lewis Hamilton finished just 0.030s quicker than Nico Rosberg. What would be the absolute dream for Hamilton is for him to get pole position and a Red Bull or two between himself and his Mercedes team-mate by the end of qualifying.

Friday practice could hardly have gone any better for Lewis Hamilton as he finishes quicker than Nico Rosberg in both session. The real stuff doesn't start until tomorrow and the Briton knows well enough that doing well on Friday doesn't necessarily translate to doing well in qualifying or the race.

Esteban Gutierrez's tyres are screeching every time the Haas takes a corner. The Mexican is really having to work hard to keep his car on the circuit.

"How are the tyres, Max?" Red Bull ask Verstappen over the radio.

He responds, his voice wavering due to heavy vibrations, saying he is struggling front and rear.

Several drivers, including Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, have switched to the medium compound tyre for the final quarter of an hour.

Still no sign of a deckchair...

Ferrari skipped qualifying sims in first practice to focus on race preparation, but it's still not looking great for them ahead of Sunday. Daniel Ricciardo is currently lapping four tenths quicker than Sebastian Vettel.

Kimi Raikkonen does provide some great radio rants, but his latest message is perhaps one of his shortest.
