Brighton manager Chris Hughton, speaking to MOTD: "I am incredibly proud. After conceding after three minutes I don't think there was anyone in the stadium that thought the second wasn't going to come. We hung in and to go through the 90 minutes and apart from the goal I struggle to think of a real clear chance. That wouldn't have happened often if at all to them this season."
On the Kyle Walker 'headbutt' incident: "I have seen it a few times and my opinion is it is a red card. We ask for players to be honest and what have with Alireza [Jahanbakhsh], if he goes down clutching his head it would have been a different outcome. There is enough movement for it to be a red card."
On the relegation battle: "We have raised the bar today in the level of our performance. The most important thing is to take that into the difficult games. We have got vitally important home games. We have to get something from those two."

"Matt, can I have your shorts," enquires one optimistic fan as the Aussie belatedly makes his way back to the dressing room.
"Sorry mate, I think I'm going to keep them on," is Ryan's (very wise) response.

Brighton forward Anthony Knockaert, speaking to BBC Sport: "I think we gave everything. We had a game plan and it was really tough. We conceded in the first few minutes and I think the Man City fans and the people watching on TV thought it would have been four or five at the end.
"What the lads put in today was incredible. We come out of this cup with a lot of credit. We played against the champions and they may be champions again this year. I can't remember a clear chance for them apart from the goal.
"I have got two feelings. I am really disappointed because I felt we could have got something. At the same time I am really happy because if we talk about budget, a team with amazing players, what we showed today was incredible.
"If I am honest it is one of the best games I have played in my life for a few reasons. When you have a chance to play a kind of game like this you enjoy it. When we came out of the hotel we saw our fans behind us and it gives us a massive push. What what we did today I think they will be really proud of us."

I think for [Guardiola] it’s not just about the result. It’s about everything.
I was a little bit concerned because City lacked energy. They were sloppy. After the first goal we saw more of Brighton than we did of City. Maybe if they had faced a better team they would be out.
They are still on their game and looking forward. They have an important game on Tuesday [against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League] against a better quality of player. It is going to be a massive game.

Manchester City will play better against Tottenham on Tuesday. I guarantee that.
They're playing at 50% now. They're going to start stepping it up as we go into the season run-in.
Brighton can bring you down to their level sometimes by sitting off. That game against Spurs is going to be fast and furious, the atmosphere's going to be lively, and they'll have the energy back in the team.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "It was a semi-final, Brighton are an incredible defensive team, we knew that set pieces were huge, massive. We conceded too many but only one dangerous situation. We are in the final, we are there.
"My opinion is that nobody has done it [won the Quadruple] so why can we do it? It is almost impossible to achieve everything, that is the truth. Our fans will come, more than today, for the final, we are losing players every game but still we will try to do it.
"I am happy to be in the final, we extend our season by one more week and we are happy for that. I didn't see the Kyle Walker incident."

It was a wonderful cross and a very good finish. Gabriel Jesus gets himself into the right position because he knows that when this guy (Kevin de Bruyne) gets the ball he does that.
He puts it into the danger area and you have to get on the end of it as a forward, and Jesus did that. I think there were only two bits of quality in the game and that was one of them.

You can see that the Brighton fans are very proud of their team, but they've missed an opportunity here because I've never seen City so poor and so sloppy in certain parts of their game.
I think if Brighton gambled a bit more, especially in that second half, they might be going into extra-time, they might have nicked a win. Who knows?
Manchester City will face either Wolves or Watford in the FA Cup final back at Wembley on 18 May 2019.

It was a terrible game but there were two bits of quality - the goal and in the 93rd minute when City broke and Raheem Sterling forced the save from Mat Ryan.
Other than that it was a poor standard. Yes, City won the game, but they didn't have to play well at all.
Brighton, unfortunately, just lacked that bit of quality to take advantage of a poor day for City. I think a better team would definitely have asked more questions.

"We have some huge games to come, we look forward to the next one at Spurs on Tuesday and focus solely on that.
"[Giving tickets to school kids] Growing up in Wembley, when there were games on I was never able to step into the stadium until I got a free ticket. I saw the Cup Final between Chelsea and Manchester United and that was a turning point in my life.
"I wanted to give them the same opportunity."

David Freedman: Well played Brighton. They should be proud of they their effort.
Thomas: Really looking forward to the semi final between Wolves and Watford now. After this it should be a massive improvement for the neutral fan

The Quadruple remains on! It wasn't a classic, but I'm sure Pep Guardiola won't care.
They won it with this very early Gabriel Jesus header.

That was the best 30 seconds of the game! Brilliant defending from Laporte, City have a two-on-two break, Gabriel Jesus clips it up to Raheem Sterling at the back post but his shot was well saved by Mat Ryan.
City now have a throw and will look to kill the clock down in the corner.
