    Scottish League Two

Scott Brown's only goal of the game at home to Cowdenbeath is enough to move Peterhead to the top of League Two - two points above Edinburgh City - as they made full use of their game in hand.

David Goodwillie got the only goal in Stirling as Clyde move to within two points of Edinburgh.

Annan move eight points clear in fourth place after their win away to Berwick as Elgin were held at home to Queen's Park.

    Scottish League One

Arbroath stay 16 points clear at the top of League One after they and Raith Rovers both drew.

The Red Lichties were held to a draw away to fourth-top East Fife.

Rovers came from behind to draw in Dumbarton and move a point clear of Forfar Athletic.

Stenhousemuir managed a point away to Stranraer but remain bottom, two points behind Brechin City.

  5. Mckay hat-trick maintains County leadpublished at 21:52 GMT 26 February 2019

    Scottish Championship

Billy Mckay's hat-trick gives Ross County an impressive win over an Ayr side who started their nearest challengers in League One.

It only retains his side's five-point lead because Dundee United move three points above Ayr after Nicky Clark's penalty secured a win over Inverness Caley Thistle.

County's win could be significant, especially for Ayr's challenge, as the Dingwall side have a game in hand.

On-loan Aberdeen striker Bruce Anderson's double helped Dunfermline to a 3-0 win over bottom side Partick Thistle that lifts the Pars to within two points of Caley Thistle in the promotion play-off place.

Morton are a point behind thanks to Gregor Buchanan's header against Queen of the South, who drop behind the Greenock side.

Ian McCall shuffled the pack and Ayr United came to life. Billy Mckay was exceptional. I have to compliment both sides as they left everything on the pitch, but Ross County for me shaded it. Brilliant entertainment
