This is phenomenal, as a 21 year old I’m loving this and wish I could be in there in person witnessing it. Would love to see more of this on the BBC.

Incredible sport. How is this not mainstream over here? So much respect and tradition. Real wrestling on TV at last. Love the walking advertising banners between bouts.
Gordy, London
Look out for how tight the wrestlers belts are, if they are loose they are not afraid of a grip whereas, Takayasu, always has the tightest setting making it extremely hard for their opponents to get a grip.
Cezar, Edinburgh
I was fascinated by Sumo as a boy. My dad and I would dress up and perform the full ceremony followed by choreographed bouts. It is a dream come true to see these great sumotori wrestling in my home city.
H Hatfield, Fulham
Winner - Takayasu

Onokatsu came out with real intent, but Ichiyamamoto’s composure told the story. Every shove, every step—disciplined, deliberate, decisive. Brilliant sumo.
Kealan, Fenland
Winner - Aonishiki

We're not only loving watching the sumo live, but also all of the positive comments being posted. Hopefully, this will encourage the BBC to show more tournaments in the future.

Wow. Just wow. The pageantry, the precision — it’s like watching power and grace dance to a rhythm older than football itself. Thank you, BBC, for bringing this spectacle to our shores. The poise of Midorifuji, the sheer presence of Kinbozan — every bout tells a story. Sumo has arrived, and Britain is watching. What an event.
Kealan, Fenland
