How to follow Italian Grand Prix on the BBC

Round 13 of the 2026 Formula 1 season heads to Monza, the home of Ferrari, for the Italian Grand Prix, from 4-6 September.

Alpine's Pierre Gasly took pole position for Sunday's race for a stunning first career pole position in F1.

Mercedes' George Russell was unable to fully capitalise on team-mate and championship rival Kimi Anotnelli's grid penalty, qualifying second, 0.080 seconds behind Gasly.

Because of a three-place grid penalty for McLaren's Oscar Piastri, home hero Charles Leclerc will start third with Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton fourth.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen, last year's winner, will be fifth on the grid with Piastri alongside.

Lights out for Sunday's 53-lap race will be at 14:00 BST on Sunday.

It has been a very hot weekend for the Italian Grand Prix, which was declared a heat-hazard race by F1's governing body, the FIA.

Sunday's race, which starts at 3pm local time, is set for highs of 33C, with no risk of rain.
