Wolves manager Gary O’Neil, speaking to Sky Sports: “We were miles too open. We lost shape and structure. We weren’t able to defend in transition. There were some crazy, crazy moments for their goals.
“I would expect scrutiny. I understand how the supporters feel. I understand their frustrations. They’ll get everything I can give for the whole time I’m here. I have no problem with their reaction to that performance, because I agree with them.
“We’re seven games in and bottom of the league. You’d expect the supporters of this club to be disappointed with that."
FT: Man City 4-2 Fulham
Fulham boss Marco Silva, speaking to Match of the Day: "To score two goals away here at the Etihad Stadium and have four more clear chances to score, we should have done much better in terms of the result. We were a bit unlucky in the way we conceded the first goal, even if we were slow to react on the edge of the box, but then we conceded the second and the third.
"Looking at the whole picture, the players understood the plan, they executed it really well and we created a lot of chances. Unhappy with the result because we were not ruthless enough but proud of the boys for the brave performance."
FT: West Ham 4-1 Ipswich Town
West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui, speaking to Sky Sports: "It’s always important [to win]. It was an important day for us but we deserved to win against a good team like Ipswich. We started very well but suffered a goal in an action I think we can avoid but after the mentality was strong."
FT: Everton 0-0 Newcastle
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe, speaking to Sky Sports: "I thought we played well today without the final most important bit. They are a difficult team to contain. We were good with the ball until the final action."
On Anthony Gordon's performance: "I though the did really well. The disappointing thing for him and us will be the penalty. He has his process, it has been brilliant for him, it is one of those moments - a long wait for him to think about it and it is never easy. His overall performance was very good.
"I was a lot happier. Our best away performance in a long time. I thought we controlled the game, I was pleased with the mentality. We can complain about not winning but you have to look at the performance overall and it is much better."
On Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak returning after the international break: "They are big players for us, both Callum and Alex big creators and goalscorers for us. It will be great to have our recognised strikers back.
"Manchester City and this game is much more like ourselves and hopefully we can continue to improve in the next group of games."
FT: Leicester 1-0 Bournemouth
Image source, Getty ImagesBournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It's difficult to explain, you need to score. We had a disallowed goal, hit the post, the crossbar, we had enough chances to win the game.
"We played quite a level first half. In the second half we were pushing them a lot, put pressure on them. We played in their half. We had a lot of crosses but their keeper made some very good saves. We have to be more ruthless."
On Leicester's goal: "We should defend better but they have quality players. This can happen. We have to give merit to their offensive side but on the other side we are missing very clear chances."
"Ryan Christie drew an amazing save from the keeper. There are chances that you cannot miss altogether. We have to be more clinical and it is hurting us. All the games apart from Liverpool we are creating more chances but we are not getting the points."
FT: Man City 3-2 Fulham
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I know it is easy to say, we have to win the game but is a tough game. They start the season so strong and we know the transition is really good. I think we started well and after they change the shape, I feel that we played well but when you make the transition you feel that something wrong is going to happen. This is the truth. We suffer together and in the end a good win."
On City's record 50 home games without defeat: "When this happens it is because you have to win games like today. We can win by four or five goals but to win like today it is tough. People sometimes underestimate the opposition. Just look at Brentford. They scored five today and here at home against them we suffered. The team is alive and we are happy with that."
FT: Everton 0-0 Newcastle
Image source, ReutersEverton manager Sean Dyche, speaking to Match of the Day: "We have been patching teams together for a while now and we have asked a lot of Jimmy Garner and he did very well. I ask a lot of the players by trying to get them Premier League fit and injury free. That mentality continues to grow and it served us well last season.
"We carry a small squad for financial reasons and if you get injury and illness it affects you and stretches you."
On Everton's mentality: "I think it is coming back. Last season we had a strong jaw against many things that were going against us. There have been mistakes this season and we have switched off in key moments. That is reducing now and we are doing the basics better and still trying to find as way of winning games. It is hard to correct everything and we are showing signs that we are."
On the two penalty decisions in the game: "The first one there is toing and froing but you can't throw someone to the ground. Then the one that wasn't, if that's in the middle of the pitch it is a foul. He is going to strike the ball and he player has interrupted the fact he is going to strike the ball. You think he would have a look at it."
FT: Leicester 1-0 Bournemouth
Image source, Getty ImagesLeicester midfielder Oliver Skipp, speaking to PLP: "It was our first win so it's always important to get on the board. You saw in the second half it wasn't pretty. The first half we played some good stuff but the second half we showed a different side.
On Facundo Buonanotte: "I thought he was brilliant today, you saw what a talent he is and how hard he works for the team. You could see when he came off how exhausted he was. Massive credit to him."
On the defensive side of the game: "We do it every week so it is nice that it paid off today with a clean sheet. I'm sure that defenders and keepers will be happy. The whole team put in a shift, people blocking things, people heading things off the line. It was nice to see and the defenders will be especially happy with that."
"There is still loads that we can improve on, we are not getting carried away with our first win. We know we need to be better and be more dominant in games. It's always nice when that first win comes."
FT: Everton 0-0 Newcastle

I think we perform well and we deserved to win but that's football sometimes. Today we create but we couldn't score. We take the point and move on."
Do you think you created enough to win today? "I think so. I think they cleared two or three balls off the line. I think we could do a few things better. We missed a little bit the last pass but we are happy with the way we performed. Some positive things to take away. I hope we continue."
On Anthony Gordon's performance against his old club: "We know Anthony, he tries his best every time he is on the pitch. He wants to score and unfortunately he didn't but he helped the team so much. I am sure he will be disappointed but it is not a problem. It has happened. We move on because he is a great player."
FT: Man City 3-2 Fulham

"They scored a very good goal in the beginning and that made the game even harder. On their counter attacks they were very, very dangerous. In the end we handled the game well. Kova [Kovacic] got two nice goals and I scored as well so we are very happy."
On his goal: "It is a different goal for me because I'm not the type of player that shoots a lot from distance. Most of the time my goals are more from dribbles and shooting from close, so this was a bit different. Honestly I don't care how I score, as long as I help the team I am happy.
"When I took the shot I felt that I had hit the ball well and then it was just about hoping that I had put it in the right direction. I did and it went in so I am happy."
On making a big impact from the bench: "When you are on the bench it is not about being a spectator, you look at your position and try to see what you can do if you come in [to the game]. You want to come on and make the difference.
"I saw that they were playing in a back five and the defender on my side was a winger that was playing defensively, so I knew with my one versus one qualities that there would be a lot of space. No attacker likes to defend so I tried to make it as difficult as possible, get the ball and go at him."
FT: Everton 0-0 Newcastle
Everton manager Sean Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: "We have been patchingtogether teams which has been a hard task. I'm pleased for the back five, I thought they were very good. All things considered we take the point, a positive point, and we have looked strong in the last three games.
"It's back to where we were, last season we were strong defensively. That's really pleasing. Offensive side, we are still finding our feet."
On the penalty: "Jordan [Pickford] has done great and made a good save. And then we don't get [awarded] one - everyone knows about our record of not getting penalties - and you get frustrated."
On Everton's penalty claim: "[Dominic Calvert-Lewin] is trying to finish it. Let's put it this way, if that's in the middle of the pitch is he giving a foul? I would say absolutely.
"We had a lot of mistakes earlier in the season. You can't make that many mistakes. We had to cut that out. We are showing signs that we are beginning to do that, and when you do the basics right they usually look after you.
"All I can look at is this group, the intent form them, they have gone out and delivered a strong performance against a very good side. The mentality grows.
"You try and be optimistic. We keep moving forward and we get more injuries, so we have to hope everyone comes through this period, and we get some players back."
FT: Man City 4-2 Fulham

We started really well, created two chances in two minutes and immediately after they hit on the transition; with Adama, Iwobi, all the other players they have they are always so dangerous. We played some decent, good moments and in some other ones they were better than us. Ederson made some incredible saves.
"After the Champions League it is tough to face such a tough side, Fulham is an incredible team. Marco [Silva] has been there so many years already and they bought in some very talented and experienced players [in the summer]. We knew that and knew it would be tough but we won."
On Kovacic's brace: "He is not a top goalscorer but he maybe saw how many goals Rodri has scored in that position and did copy and paste. He scored two fantastic goals."
On the international break: "Better to not think about it. Every year is similar so it is better to not think about it. I don't know how many players will be available, how many will come back injured. I pray that the players come back fit from the national team and we go game by game."

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, speaking to Match of the Day: "We created a lot of good chances and I am frustrated we haven't won. But it was much better. It looked like we were snatching at chances.
"I have to credit the players because it is a difficult environment to play in and it is a much better defensive display from us too. Big steps forward.
"I think there has been a reaction. We stood up to the physical test and were technically very good. We are trying to break barriers and have an outstanding season. I think we are capable of more and we have some tough fixtures to come.
"I think Anthony [Gordon] handled the occasion very well. I think his all-round game was very good. He will be disappointed with the penalty. Credit to Jordan Pickford for the save."
Will Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson be back after the international break? "We hope so. They are two huge players for us. When you take any focal point out of a team it has an impact. Would it have made the difference today? I'm not sure but we are looking forward to having them back."

I thought tonight we weren't at our best at all. It is about us and the squad pushing together. Every game is tough and we have got to take our chances against teams.

We weren't at our best but we were resilient and we had to dig in. We want three points but to not lose the game is great and our first clean sheet on the board."
On saving Anthony Gordon's penalty: "To be fair, I watched the game last week and he reversed it against Ederson and I fancied him going keeper's left. It hit my knee and straight off my beak [nose]. I think he will be disappointed but I am there to make the save and that's what I did.
"It's like trying to double bluff each other and I have got the better of him tonight, It was a big moment and I am pleased it helped us get the draw.
"I back myself on penalties and it is the first I have saved for Everton for a while. It is a point and a clean sheet and we build on that."

Everton have lost just three of their last 20 Premier League home games against Newcastle (W12 D5), though two of those defeats have come across their last four such meetings (W2).
Newcastle have won five of their last eight Premier League meetings with Everton (D1 L2), as many as in their previous 24 against them (D6 L13). However, they failed to win either meeting with the Toffees last term (D1 L1).
After losing their first four Premier League matches this season, Everton have picked up four points in their last two games (W1 D1). The Toffees are looking for consecutive wins for the first time since April.
Newcastle United have won 11 points in their six Premier League games this season (W3 D2 L1), their most at this stage of a top-flight season since 2011-12 (12) and Eddie Howe’s best start to a league season since 2010-11 in League One with Bournemouth (11 points).
Everton have won six of their last eight Premier League matches at Goodison Park (L2). Since the first game in this run on April 6, the Toffees have won more home points than any other Premier League side (18).
Only Aston Villa and Manchester City (7) have picked up more points from losing positions in the Premier League this season than Newcastle (5) – the Magpies have only lost two of their last seven games when conceding first (W2 D3), having lost 11 of their previous 13 games when going 1-0 down.
Since Sean Dyche’s first Premier League game in charge of Everton in February 2023, the Toffees have scored a higher percentage of their goals via set pieces than any other club (45.5%, 30/66).
Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães has won the most fouls in the Premier League this season (24) and since his first start in March 2022 he has won 42 more fouls than anyone else (249). Since 2003-04, among players to play 5,000 Premier League minutes, the only players to win more fouls per 90 minutes than Guimarães (3) are Jack Grealish (3.8) and Wilfried Zaha (3.1).
Everton’s Ashley Young has assisted a goal in each of his last two Premier League appearances, which is as many assists as he got in his previous 117 games combined. At the age of 39, Young is the oldest player in Premier League history to assist a goal in consecutive games.
Anthony Gordon has been involved in 13 goals in 23 Premier League appearances in 2024 for Newcastle United (7 goals, 6 assists). He’s yet to score or assist against former club Everton and has one goal in his last 15 games at Goodison Park.
