Maria McAneny's second half strike was enough to win the game for Celtic

Celtic moved up to second in the SWPL with a narrow 1-0 win over Montrose.

Grant Scott's side leapfrogged Rangers in the top flight table following their 1-1 draw at Glasgow City.

The result leaves Celtic five points off the top and two points ahead of Rangers below them.

Maria McAneny's 60th minute strike was enough to secure the victory and make it three wins from three games for manager Grant Scott.

Montrose, who have already taken points off champions Hibs this season, put up a stern fight but Celtic ultimately managed to get the job done.

Craig Feroz's side remain in the top six despite the defeat.
