    Rangers 2-0 Celtic

'Welcome to the Old Firm derby' stuff from John Souttar on Junior Adamu.

The Rangers defender absolutely wallops the Celtic striker in the air. Ouch.

I don't know what it is with Youssef Chermiti in this fixture, but he does it again.

Youssef Chermiti does ever so well to keep it alive - flicks it by Julian Araujo, flicks it by Viljami Sinisalo, 2-0 to Rangers.

    Rangers 2-0 Celtic

    Celtic haven't had a shot.

    Youssef Chermiti

    He's done it again!

It's an absolute mess from the Celtic defence, Dane Murray slices a clearance backwards and Julian Araujo is so soft, but Youssef Chermiti does brilliantly to capitalise.

The striker's deft touch skips him past Araujo and he pokes in a second.

    Rangers 1-0 Celtic

Really good from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to beat a man in midfield and find Daizen Maeda wide on the left, but the Celtic forward's cross is so poor.

Needs to be better from Maeda.

Some views on that Youssef Chermiti goal, including one questionable nickname...

William: My god, this lad is making so many people look stupid. That is an incredible goal. Wow, sensational.

Graham: I’m an Everton fan, and so pleased to see Chermiti getting to show what he can do. Hope the Rangers fans get behind him and I’m sure they will reap the rewards of his undoubted talent.

    David: The Cherminator strikes again.

Kieran Tierney bends in a wicked ball from the left. Jack Butland is brave to claim as Junior Adamu attempts to meet the cross.

    Rangers 1-0 Celtic

Rangers have a record of W13, D4, L0 when scoring the opening goal in the Premiership this season.

In fact, they have avoided defeat in their last 40 matches when scoring first in the Premiership, since a 3-2 loss to Ross County on 14 April 2024.

Even then, Pat, he's done very little.

Looks a shadow of last season's player of the year.

  10. 'Maeda most dangerous for Celtic'published at 12:20 GMT

    Rangers 1-0 Celtic

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Sportsound

Maybe Maeda's looking the most dangerous at the moment because he keeps going behind that Rangers defence.

    Rangers 1-0 Celtic

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's corner takes a nick at the front post but nobody can make second contact.

Celtic can't maintain any kind of pressure.

It opens up a bit for Celtic and Yang Hyun-Jun bursts forward before finding Daizen Maeda, who doesn't opt to shoot and scuffs his cross.

Celtic respond with two corners that come to nothing, then up the other end go Rangers.

What a goal. What a start from Rangers.

    An outrageous goal.

Andreas Skov Olsen stands up a cross and Youssef Chermiti does his best Scott McTominay impression, thumping in a ridiculous overhead, bicycle kick.

An instant classic Old Firm goal. He's done it again in this fixture.

Rangers work a corner short and Mikey Moore finds Nico Raskin at the near post.

His flick is saved by Viljami Sinisalo, but the Rangers midfielder is quite a bit offside.
