More from Rangers boss Russell Martin on Sky Sports:"We don't start well enough again, not enough energy and intensity. The ball can't get behind us like that two-v-one, it's impossible.

"It's much easier when you show courage to take the ball and stick to the ball.

"There's too much tension, there's not enough courage with the ball, so we have to fight more than we should without the ball. It's nothing new.

"The second half we finish strongly and I thought we'd go on to win the game, but we don't.

"We will work it out, we'll get feedback from the players.

"Usually eight weeks in, you're two or three games in. We're having to learn quickly. The whole dynamic can change by the end of next week.

"Perspective is really important.

"There's a few areas we're looking to strengthen, but I don't think there's anything imminent."

There's a world where, this time next week, we're sitting here telling you Rangers are a Champions League team and they are just three points behind Celtic after winning the Old Firm.

I appreciate that sounds unlikely at present, but it's possible.

Tough games for Rangers coming up.

It's going to take a big collective effort to get it going, but there's an opportunity for them to do something.

Ooft, given the current situation, that is a dodgy, dodgy run of fixtures.

Here's more from Rangers head coach Russell Martin, who told BBC Scotland: "It's frustrating, we're making it hard for ourselves in games, conceding poor goals is so disappointing.

"We turn the ball over a lot without having conviction in our actions. When we have a difficult moment, the response is not good enough. We need to stick to the plan always.

"I thought we were going to win the game in the end. We need to have more chances to score more, but I loved the intent in the second half.

"It's not the end of the world. We've been eight weeks and had so many games. The window needs to shut and everyone needs to be all in. Before that happens, I'm under no illusions.

"When you can feel some of the lads' energy is not all there, because they feel like their future is somewhere else, it's difficult. But we need to give them the same attention as if they're going to be here for a long time.

"Some of the subs made a really good impact and put themselves in a good place to start the game.

"We're happy with the group, just a few uncertainties about some of their futures."

We haven't even looked at Russell Martin's reaction to the game because we had to address that breaking Hamza Igamane news.

Here's a standout quote: "The only people I have to concern myself with the messaging is the players. The fans were amazing second half. I understand the frustration, but the players won't look back."

Russell Martin is right to out Igamane. It doesn't help him with the predicament that he's in just now.

It's Rangers, you'd never refuse to go on the park. I don't care who it is, if you refuse, you should be out of the club, end of.

The obvious thing to do is kick [Hamza Igamane] out.

Russell Martin has had a disastrous start, but this is where I feel for him.

He has to try to change that dressing room and change that mentality.

If he's injured, he's injured. I highly doubt it though.

It's at boiling point right now with the fans. If Russell Martin isn't strong and sees this through, he will join Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Michael Beale and Philippe Clement out the door.

He needs to get the right characters in and quick. I can't help but think it's too honest from Russell as well - some things you need to keep in house.

"I have to trust him, but we'll see. The issue is that the window is still open and there are people with one eye out and one eye in.

Wow, okay. Rangers head coach Russell Martin says Hamza Igamane refused to come on today.

The Ibrox boss says the striker told him he was injured when he looked to bring him off the bench, despite having trained and warmed up in Paisley.

Martin also says a bid has been rejected for the forward this week.

"It shows how far we've come that we're a bit disappointed with a point.

"I thought we were outstanding first half. I don't think anyone comes here thinking it's a free hit any more."

Today's point was important for St Mirren because they have a lot of tough games coming up.

It would be brilliant if Robinson could make the semi-final of the League Cup.

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "I'm disappointed with the draw after the first-half performance. We controlled the game, broke really well, our play out was excellent.

"We felt we had enough chances that we could have got three points.

"We lost a little control in the game because we didn't contain the ball as much. Our two centre forwards tired which is something we have to get better at. We don't have another striker at the minute that we can put on.

"Overall I can't fault the players, we've had a tough start and some really good results. We have good boys that make the core of this team and the new players have to get to that level.

"We believe in getting our better players on the ball quicker and we're not going deviate from that. We need a really quick striker."
