Celta Vigo have won just one of their six major European matches against German teams (D2 L3), with that one win coming against Stuttgart in February 2001 in the UEFA Cup (2-1).

Vincenzo Grifo is Freiburg’s all-time leading scorer in major European competition with nine goals. Since the 2022-23 season, only Lorenzo Pellegrini (18) and Bruno Fernandes (15) have been involved in more UEFA Europa League goals than Grifo (9 goals, 5 assists).

Celta Vigo’s Javi Rueda has netted in each of his last two UEFA Europa League appearances, scoring twice from just three attempts. The only other Celta Vigo player to score in three major European games in a row was Williot Swedberg earlier this season.
