The fourth-round draw for the 2026-27 Carabao Cup will take place on Wednesday, 16 September following the conclusion of Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion's third-round fixture (kick-off 20:00 BST).

The draw will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

We had six third-round matches last week with another five today. There are four more games tomorrow, with the final match being played on Thursday, 17 September between Manchester City and Norwich City.

The fourth round fixtures will begin in the week commencing Monday, 26 October.

Tottenham's difficult start to the season continued as they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by a largely second-string Liverpool side.

Roberto de Zerbi's team at least managed to score their first goal this season against Premier League opposition - having failed to find the net in four league games.

But goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai helped Andoni Iraola's Liverpool progress to the fourth round at Spurs' expense.

Both managers named heavily-changed lineups with Iraola making 10 changes from the side that laboured to a goalless draw against Fulham on Saturday, with only Ronald Araujo retaining his place and Joe Gomez captaining the team on his first appearance of the season.

De Zerbi made eight changes from Spurs' goalless draw against Everton with Andy Robertson on the bench on his first return to Anfield since leaving Liverpool in the summer.

Oscar Bobb struck his first Fulham goal to seal their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after a thriller at West Ham.

On an emotional night, Hammers fans paid tribute before kick-off to their former goalkeeper Ludek Miklosko - who made almost 400 appearances between 1990 and 1998 - after he died from cancer at the age of 64.

And the hosts twice fought back in a first half containing four goals with Morato and Pablo - his first for the club - cancelling out efforts from Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz and Cesar Palacios.

Substitute Bobb's 78th-minute strike delivered a much‑needed win for Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa following a winless start in the Premier League.

Defeat ended a six‑match unbeaten run for Championship leaders West Ham, who pushed for a late leveller that never came.

Max Dowman scored twice as Arsenal eased to a Carabao Cup third-round victory at Ipswich Town.

The 16-year-old was one of two youngsters making their first appearance of the season from the start, alongside centre-back Marli Salmon, 17.

Dowman opened the scoring with a fine solo goal in the seventh minute. He won the ball in midfield, played a one-two with Eberechi Eze and ran through, leaving two defenders on the ground, before sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Noni Madueke rifled in their second effort following Mikel Merino's flicked ball over the top.

And after the break Dowman showed good composure to control Martin Zubimendi's pass before rolling the ball into the far bottom corner. Merino fired in Arsenal's fourth goal off the inside of the post.

Ipswich scored twice, through Anis Mehmeti's finish from Jack Clarke's pass and Chuba Akpom's tidy turn and finish - but it was far too little and too late.

Brentford secured their spot in the Carabao Cup fourth round with a hard-fought win at League One Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Callum Wilson and Fabio Carvalho both found the net in the first half to put Brentford into a two-goal lead, before Paudie O'Connor's second-half header ensured the visitors had to work for their victory.

It took just three minutes for the Bees to take the lead when Dango Ouattara's pass evaded the home defence and Wilson finished calmly for his second goal for the club since his summer arrival.

The hammer blow for Reading came in the 46th minute when Ouattara grabbed his second assist of the evening to set Carvalho free and he finished past Joel Pereira with ease in his first game since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in November 2025.

Reading were fortunate not to have gone three goals down when Ouattara's header from close range forced Pereira into a save and Michael Kayode made a mess of the rebound.

The League One side had strong appeals for a penalty turned down in the 71st minute, before O'Connor headed into the bottom corner from the resulting set-piece. He had earlier had a goal from an overhead kick ruled out for a high boot in the box.

Bees substitute Igor Thiago missed a golden opportunity to wrap up the win late on, while Jannik Schuster's header was ruled out in stoppage time for a foul.

Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta speaking to Sky Sports: "Very happy with a lot of aspects, the way we played, to maintain the momentum, some individual performances were really good so in general a really good night,"

On 16-year-old Max Dowman: "Max was brilliant. Some actions made the difference and were outstanding. We know the talent and we have to look after him. The environment around him is really good so step by step.

"He is only 16 years old and we have to be careful. We don't want to stop him, but we need to develop him. We're fully aware of what he needs and he will have full opportunities to play."

Brentford

Brentford boss Keith Andrews on reaching the fourth-round of the Carabao Cup: "We took it very seriously in the last round and we did again tonight. It's a serious competition for us, we want to go as far as we can. There's no reason why we can't. We're going to attack it as hard as we can."

On the officiating in the match: "It's been a tough week for officials as everybody is probably aware. I think we just need to let them ref the game and be human beings and make decisions because we have gone through a period in the game where I feel like they weren't actually making decisions in both boxes because if the technology we have in the game and I feel like that is a real shame.

"I always felt as a player when there was a relationship with an official that was built on respect and being able to speak to each other in a certain way, we've gone away from allowing them to officiate and allowing them to make mistakes and I think it is a real shame. Now they are having to go back to that and it's not the habits they have had in recent years."

On how alarming it is that there wasn't a check on Enzo Fernandez being offside for Manchester City's goal in the Manchester derby: "It's pretty alarming. The first thing was whether [Erling] Haaland was offside and then obviously [Enzo] Fernandez was. It's a shame."

Peterborough moved into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup for the first time since 2009 thanks to a 7-6 penalty shootout victory over Barnsley that followed a thrilling 3-3 draw between the two League One sides.

Barnsley were gifted the lead after 61 seconds when Peterborough goalkeeper Alex Bass was charged down by Cameron McGeehan, with the Tykes captain nodding in after the ball had come off the bar.

Peterborough equalised in the 19th minute when Lucca Mendonca's cross was pushed out by Barnsley goalkeeper Kieran Flavell as far as Harry Leonard, who prodded in.

The hosts then completed the turnaround after 27 minutes when Harley Mills' free-kick was headed in by the unmarked Danny Ormerod.

But the Tykes were level five minutes before half-time when Reyes Cleary beat Mendonca with ease down the left before placing his shot into the bottom corner.

The visitors looked to have won it when Cleary bent in his second in the 74th minute, but Ormerod sent the tie to penalties by heading in Mills' cross with just two minutes remaining.

After 12 successful spot-kicks, a tame effort from Barnsley's Luke Alker was saved by Bass, giving Harrison Jones the chance to send the hosts through, which he did.

Liverpool

Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live after the game: "I am pleased with the performance. I think there have been different phases in the game but overall I liked the energy. We scored but I am happy because we are in the next round.

"I think at 2-0, they have to take a risk and win some territory. We were defending well but conceding a lot of set-pieces and when they scored that put us under some pressure. Luckily for us we found a way to score a third and finish the game properly."

On Dominik Szoboszlai's goal: "I think the thing with Dom is when he is going to shoot he has a chance to score. With him you believe because he has done it before. He is a great finisher."

On Andy Robertson: "I think he deserves all this and I was happy. I was thinking he honestly deserves this because he has given so much to Liverpool."

I think you'll always look out of it, conceding a goal, you'll always pick the bones out of it, especially from a set-piece.

But I think this result will raise spirits [for Liverpool].

He's a coach who knows exactly what he wants and I think he's working them really hard and I think they are getting better.

Liverpool

Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola, speaking to ITV Sport: "I think the game was quite different phases. We were pushing a lot and then went ahead but once we were ahead they were close to our zones, especially set pieces we were suffering. I think we've been good.

"I felt the team during good phases today, it felt like energy and everyone pushing. It was close to the version we want."

On returning to Bournemouth this weekend: "I know the game is very difficult. You see how many they lose in a season and it is a difficult place to go. To win there you have to be really good."

I think if we're being charitable, they scored a goal from a set-piece.

But overall, the bulk of the game they were a bit too nice and a bit naive.

There's some positives but still big improvements needed from this Spurs side.

Plenty of goals with 24 coming in five games. Peterborough then won 7-6 on penalties against Barnsley.

Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister, speaking to ITV Sport: "We played against a very good team who know what to do on the ball.

"I like getting in the box and scoring, really important to score for our confidence and to win but we need to understand this is one game.

"I am feeling really good and I am feeling the love of the fans which is really important for me.

"The young players show every day in training they want to be here. They deserved this. I focus quite a lot on them and sometimes get angry but I think that is me wanting them to succeed.

"They are going to be really, really important for us during this season."
