Free-kick awarded to Köln after Lund is fouled by Daghim. Bit unfortunately, that Daghim seems to catch the defender accidentally after attempting to win the ball back.

Eriksen so far has create one clear chance and has attempted 21 passes with an accuracy of 90.5. Has moving into the 10 position proved effective?

It appears that Wolfsburg have greater control, as he guides his teammates and takes advantage of the spaces. Wolfsburg look the more confident side this half.

Köln are definitely the happy of the two teams as they go into the break 1-0 up thanks to a Maina strike. They are moving the ball, working it to create chances and being on the front-foot, taking advantage of the support from the home crowd.

Wolfsburg however will need to improve if they hope to turn this around.

  18. Familar face?published at 20:13 GMT

    Christian EriksenImage source, Getty Images

Yes, that Eriksen I mentioned in my last post was former Manchester United and Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.

When he signed to the German club after leaving Manchester United at the end of last season, he said: "Wolfsburg is my first club in the Bundesliga - I'm really looking forward to this new adventure. I'm convinced we can achieve something together.

"I immediately sensed that [Wolfsburg manager] Paul Simonis has a clear vision for the team and for me personally.

"The fact that there are several familiar faces in the squad from the Danish national team makes Wolfsburg a particularly attractive proposition for me."

Eriksen has registered 4 assists and 1 goal in 16 appearances.

Thumbs up if you think if you think he'll be the difference tonight and thumbs down if not.

    Köln 1-0 Wolfsburg

Wimmer gets through for Wolfsburg for the first time tonight, Eriksen plays an intelligent lofted pass though the gap of Köln's defence but Wimmer on his weaker left foot is wasteful and fails to hit the target from a close but awkward range.

  20. Postpublished at 35 min

    Köln 1-0 Wolfsburg

That goal has stunned Wolfsburg and energised Köln who are looking to press their advantage and get their second of the night.
