Kim Hellberg might have been in the home dugout at the Swansea.com Stadium this evening.

Having considered appointing Hellberg last spring, Swansea City made him their top managerial target after Alan Sheehan's exit last November - but the Swede opted instead to succeed Rob Edwards at Middlesbrough.

Since then, Hellberg has kept Boro firmly in contention for promotion, though they are in need of a result with the finishing line in sight.

The Teessiders have much more to play for than their opponents, but Swansea have been a tough nut to crack on their own ground under Vitor Matos, the man who took charge after Hellberg chose the Riverside.

Swansea City boss Vitor Matos has made four changes to the team that started the 3-3 draw at Sheffield United on Friday. In come Eom Ji-Sung, who scored the late leveller at Brammall Lane, Jay Fulton Liam Cullen and Sam Parker. It's a first league start for the Swans in over two years for 19-year-old Parker.

Middlesbrough make two alterations from the XI that started the 2-1 home defeat by Millwall on Friday. Goalscorer Dael Fry and left-back Matt Targett go out and in come Alex Bangura and Jeremy Sarmiento. The loss of on-loan Newcastle full-back Targett to injury is a real blow.

Middlesbrough's terribly timed run of four games without a win means they start this evening down in fourth place.

Second-placed Ipswich are just a point ahead but boast two games in hand on the Teessiders meaning you'd have to say they'll need to win today.

Swansea are down in 16th but do boast an excellent recent home record.

Can they put another dent in Kim Hellberg's side's hopes?

Don't go anywhere as we still have two more games to come in the Championship this evening.

Next up is Swansea v Middlesbrough and kick-off in less than 15 minutes, and we then have a tantalising match at 20:00 BST when play-off chasing Hull take on league leaders Coventry.

Ipswich move back up to second into the automatic promotion places with their 2-1 win against Birmingham, capitalising on Millwall dropping points at home to Norwich earlier this afternoon.

The Canaries' remarkable 2026 run sees them move up to ninth, while Bristol City's win against Sheffield United pushes them up in the middle of the pack to 11th.

Leicester stay in the bottom three despite pulling a late goal back at Sheffield Wednesday, to deny the Owls three points that would push them towards a positive number to end the season.

Before the two goals we were dull, not aggressive enough, not quick enough, the second half we sat off it, we allowed a relatively poor Birmingham side to dominate the game territorially, basically we've got away with it.

I don't know exactly where we go from here, if we don't play well this can happen, against a better team this would be a defeat today.

You couldn't give this amount of possession to a Norwich or a Middlesbrough, I think the manager tried to pick a team with the Norwich game in mind and I don't think it came off.

Another step closer to Championship survival for Charlton Athletic who are eight points clear of the relegation zone with just five matches remaining.

They took the lead in this one when Matty Godden, just 67 seconds on to the pitch, trapped the ball with his first touch of the match and volleyed home clinically with his second.

Nestory Irankunda levelled the match with a terrific finish from a tight angle and the Addicks had to rely on goalkeeper Will Mannion to hold on to a point with an array of excellent saves near the end of the game.

Watford keeper Egil Selvik receives a yellow card for dissent as this match looks to be ending in a draw.

In the 14th minute of additional time, Joe Rankin-Costello breaks and has a two v one for Charlton.

He decides to shoot from a tight angle which is deflected out for a corner.

We are into the 100th minute and Matty Pollock has just flicked a header wide of Will Mannion's left-hand post from a corner.

Another five minutes approximately still to be played here.

Lincoln City have ended their 65-year wait for second tier football!

Jack Moylan smashed home a winner in the final moments of the game, just after Bolton's 2-2 draw with Stockport guaranteed their promotion anyway.

Michael Skubala's men remain unbeaten since November and are firmly on course for the title.

After close to a 10 minute delay, Charlton's Conor Coady has been stretchered off and on in his place as a concussion substitute is Macaulay Gillesphey.

Let's hope Coady makes a full and swift recovery from what looked on first glance like a nasty head injury.

Ipswich move back up to second in the table but didn't have it all their own way against Birmingham.

Carlos Vicente put Birmingham ahead just after the 30 minute mark, before two goals in four minutes from Ben Johnson and Kasey McAteer swung the game the other way and gave Ipswich the lead.

Blues did get the ball in the net during the second half, as Ibrahim Osman's shot was turned into the net by an Ipswich player, but the ball was flagged to have gone out in the build-up. Expect to hear more about that from Chris Davies we think...

Substitute Osman also hit the post in the closing stages, but the three points all go to Ipswich.

Leicester end Sheffield Wednesday's hopes of a first home win of the season.

Jordan Ayew made a major impact from the bench to thunder home a fantastic strike into the corner.

But if Ayew was the Foxes' saviour, Wednesday had one of their own in keeper Pierce Charles. The stopper made multiple superb saves to give his side a point and, crucially, deny the Foxes three.

Three points Leicester needed to get out of the bottom three...

Jordan Ayew has given Leicester some real vigour since coming on from the bench but only an unsavable effort has outfoxed the Owls keeper so far.

The stopper is once more leaping to deny Ayew with his cat-like reactions. A joy for Wednesday to watch amid a troubling season.

Both sides will have to settle for a point apiece at Deepdale.

Preston took the lead when Brad Potts found the far corner after being slipped in by Alfie Devine.

Thierry Small then gifted QPR a point when he shanked a dreadful clearance into the back of his own net when under little pressure with eight minutes of normal time remaining.

A fifth home league win in a row for Derby County and a fifth league defeat on the road in succession for Stoke City.

A dominant performance from Derby who go to just one point of the play-off places.

They grabbed the lead when Jaydon Banel fired home with his second touch after taking the ball down with composure inside the box.

Carlton Morris wrapped up the three points late on, finishing off unselfish work from Bobby Clark.

Bristol City's hierarchy wanted Roy Hodgson to make an impact and he certainly has, with the Robins now two wins from two games under the former England manager.

Mark Sykes' opportunistic first-half goal - after Blades keeper Adam Davies came off his line and found himself in no man's land - is the difference at Ashton Gate as the Robins record back-to-back wins for the first time since late December.

Another clean sheet, that's what it's all about.

Michael O'Neill has turned Northern Ireland into a very hard side to beat, the players understand him, sometimes it's at the detriment of going forward but if you want to stay safe, he seems to be the manager to be able to keep it tight at the back.

We are still not back under way with Charlton's Conor Coady still down and his welfare correctly taking precedent after he blocked a fiercely hit shot with his head.

Six minutes of additional time were signalled and we are into the sixth of them now but there has been no play in that time.
